Vivo makes X23 launch official by listing phone on its Chinese website

Vivo and Oppo made waves when they came out with pop-up camera modules in their recent smartphones. It seems that now both companies are ready for another set of offerings that may set a new trend in the smartphone industry. First seen on Essential Phone, Oppo has been advertising the waterdrop notch design for the R17, R17 Pro, F9 and F9 Pro smartphones. Vivo X23 is the newest addition to this list. The smartphone has been listed on Vivo’s official website in China. According to the website, the smartphone will come with a “Waterdrop” notch display by which it is able to get a whopping 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. There is a thin chin and the smartphone has an edge-to-edge display. On the back, there is a vertically stacked AI-powered dual camera module which is placed on top left corner of the phone. Below the cameras, there is a LED flash and no fingerprint scanner could be seen on the device. The Vivo X23 will come with the latest in-display fingerprint scanner. The other unlocking option could be an advanced 3D face recognition. Under the hood, the Vico X23 may come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor with 8GB RAM. The images on the website shows the phone in two hues: Purple and Pink. Barring the notch, the Vivo X23 has the same design as the X21. The Vivo X21 was launched with a 6.28-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC and comes with 6GB RAM, coupled with 128GB of onboard storage. In terms of optics, the Vivo X21 is equipped with a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. On the front, it features a 12MP sensor. The phone is backed by a 3,200mAh battery.
