Samsung could be making an entry-level Android Go smartphone with its own Experience UX, suggests leaked user manual

Several market research firms have named the second quarter of this year as a comeback quarter for Samsung. They said that Samsung, which lost out to Xiaomi in the fourth quarter of 2017 and first quarter of 2018, gained good market share in India due to the launch of pocket-friendly smartphones. On these lines, Samsung has been reported to be working on an Android Go device, called the Galaxy J2 Core, and the user manual for the device has been leaked online. According to a Sam Mobile report, the manual is in Russian language and, hence, certain claims cannot be confirmed. It is reported that the J2 Core will not come with the full-fledged version of Google’s apps and it is unclear whether users will be able to access the full versions from the Play Store. The Galaxy J2 Core, which was spotted on Geekbench earlier this year, may feature a diluted version of the Samsung Internet apps and several tools to manage data usage and storage. It could sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB storage. In the camera department, the smartphone may come with 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras. A 2,600 mAh battery is expected to keep the device running on Android 8.1 Oreo. The battery could be removable and there are dual SIM slots. In July, a few images were leaked online that showed a Samsung device running on Android Go OS but with standard Device Maintenance over Android Go’s data saving and storage management functions. It was earlier expected to be launched in India and some other markets like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. But it seems that the company could also launch the device in some other markets like Europe, Latin America and Asia, where it was said to be currently under testing.
